At the same time, Vietnam (+26.9%), Poland (+14.4%), Sweden (+9.3%), the Netherlands (+7.3%), Spain (+6.6%) and Germany (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +26.9% from 2012-2022. Mexico, Taiwan (Chinese) and France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belgium (-6.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+19 p.p.) and Vietnam (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of France (-2 p.p.), Taiwan (Chinese) (-3.4 p.p.), Belgium (-4 p.p.) and Mexico (-13.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and Mexico ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 28% share of global exports. China, France, Belgium, Taiwan (Chinese), Spain, Sweden, Poland and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
Among the main exporting countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +27.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average orthopaedic appliances export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -4.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 35% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

It was distantly followed by Germany (X tons), the UK (X tons) and France (X tons), together creating an 18% share of total imports. The following importers - Canada (X tons), Spain (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Australia (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) - together made up 21% of total imports.
The United States was also the fastest-growing in terms of the orthopaedic appliances and splints imports, with a CAGR of +23.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Spain (+14.4%), the Netherlands (+11.7%), France (+9.8%), the UK (+8.2%), Italy (+8.1%), Canada (+7.9%), Sweden (+5.1%), Germany (+4.7%) and Australia (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mexico (-8.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported orthopaedic appliances and splints worldwide, comprising 24% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 10% share of global imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 10% share.
In the United States, orthopaedic appliances imports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+8.4% per year) and the Netherlands (+13.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
