The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +80.4% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The United States was the main exporter of oxides of boron, boric acids and inorganic acids in the world, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near 28% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), China (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Finland (X tons), together constituting a 37% share of total exports. The following exporters - Israel (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Germany (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) - together made up 23% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to oxides of boron exports from the United States stood at +2.1%. At the same time, Poland (+24.7%), the Netherlands (+12.7%), Indonesia (+6.2%), Germany (+5.1%), Israel (+4.2%), Russia (+3.4%) and China (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +24.7% from 2012-2022. Chile experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Peru (-4.5%), Argentina (-5.0%), Finland (-6.7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-8.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United States (+3.7 p.p.), Poland (+3 p.p.), Russia (+2.4 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of Argentina (-1.5 p.p.), Taiwan (Chinese) (-4.4 p.p.) and Finland (-8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X), the United States ($X) and Israel ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 50% of global exports. Chile, Germany, Russia, Taiwan (Chinese), the Netherlands, Poland, Argentina, Indonesia, Peru and Finland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
Among the main exporting countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +25.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average oxides of boron export price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, oxides of boron export price increased by +74.0% against 2019 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, oxides of boron imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. China represented the major importer of oxides of boron, boric acids and inorganic acids in the world, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 31% of total imports in 2022. The United States (X tons) took an 8.1% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Brazil (6%), Sweden (5.5%) and South Korea (5.2%). Germany (X tons), Japan (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons), Russia (X tons), Canada (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Italy (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
Imports into China increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Sweden (+12.3%), Spain (+7.0%), Canada (+5.9%), Russia (+5.5%), France (+3.3%) and Brazil (+3.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sweden emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +12.3% from 2012-2022. The United States and South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Italy (-2.4%), Germany (-2.4%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-6.1%) and Japan (-7.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China and Sweden increased by +13 and +3.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported oxides of boron, boric acids and inorganic acids worldwide, comprising 33% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 10% share of global imports. It was followed by Brazil, with a 6.4% share.
