At the same time, the Netherlands (+29.4%), South Africa (+6.0%), the United States (+3.4%) and Germany (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +29.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Vietnam (-4.6%), Bulgaria (-6.0%), France (-11.5%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-15.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+8.2 p.p.), South Africa (+3.7 p.p.) and the United States (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of France (-2.6 p.p.), China (-4 p.p.) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-4.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest prepared birds skin supplier worldwide, comprising 46% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with an 18% share of global exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 8.8% share.

In China, prepared birds skin exports declined by an average annual rate of -4.0% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Africa (+10.0% per year) and Vietnam (-4.6% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 41% of global imports. The Netherlands, Taiwan (Chinese), the UK, Turkey, France, Poland and Israel lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Israel, with a CAGR of +37.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
