Japan (X tons) held a 9.1% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Czech Republic (7.8%), Russia (7.2%), the United States (6.9%), Spain (6.9%), Poland (5.9%) and Bahrain (5%).
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bahrain (with a CAGR of +16.6%), while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest steel railway material supplying countries worldwide were Austria ($X), China ($X) and the United States ($X), together accounting for 38% of global exports. Japan, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia and Bahrain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
