By contrast, China (-4.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United States (+8.3 p.p.), Canada (+2 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-1.7 p.p.) and China (-3.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($X), Germany ($X) and France ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 31% of global imports. These countries were followed by Canada, China, the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 27%.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +15.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average commercial refrigeration equipment import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 5.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 9.9%. Global import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
