Belarus (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Russia (X tons), India (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Hong Kong SAR (with a CAGR of +117.4%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest self-propelled railway coach supplying countries worldwide were Austria ($X), China ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 45% share of global exports. These countries were followed by Switzerland, South Korea, Germany, Japan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, India, Mexico, Russia and Hong Kong SAR, which together accounted for a further 46%.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of railway or tramway coaches (self-propelled) decreased by -2.2% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports showed a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 870% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of global imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, self-propelled railway coach imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight descent. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, the largest self-propelled railway coach importing markets worldwide were Austria ($X), Germany ($X) and Australia ($X), together accounting for 24% of global imports. The Netherlands, Israel, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan (Chinese), Egypt, the Philippines, Thailand, Norway, Sweden and Tunisia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.
The Philippines, with a CAGR of +356.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average self-propelled railway coach import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 1,089% against the previous year. Global import price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
