In value terms, exports of electric shavers, hair-removing appliances and hair clippers reduced to $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 21%. The following exporters - Poland (X units), Hungary (X units), Indonesia (X units) and the United States (X units) - together made up 9.9% of total exports.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Indonesia (+45.7%), Poland (+39.4%), the Netherlands (+7.6%), Hungary (+6.7%), Germany (+5.0%) and the United States (+3.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +45.7% from 2012-2022. While the share of China (+7.9 p.p.), Poland (+3.2 p.p.) and Indonesia (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest electric shavers, hair-removing appliances and hair clippers supplier worldwide, comprising 39% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 14% share of global exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 11% share.
In China, exports of electric shavers, hair-removing appliances and hair clippers expanded at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+2.5% per year) and the Netherlands (+7.8% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 14%. Global imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 9.7%. Over the period under review, global imports of hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In 2022, the United States (X units), distantly followed by Germany (X units), India (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) represented the largest importers of electric shavers, hair-removing appliances and hair clippers, together mixing up 38% of total imports. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +23.1% from 2012-2022. The UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-2.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of India (+4.6 p.p.), Germany (+3.7 p.p.), Hungary (+3.1 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+2.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2022, the share of Japan (-2 p.p.) and the United States (-5.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest electric shavers, hair-removing appliances and hair clippers importing markets worldwide were Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together comprising 33% of global imports. Hungary, France, Japan, Poland, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Mexico, India and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
Among the main importing countries, Hungary, with a CAGR of +17.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
