At the same time, Romania (+79.8%), Poland (+20.9%), Spain (+9.4%), Italy (+3.8%), Vietnam (+2.8%) and the Czech Republic (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +79.8% from 2012-2022. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Austria (-2.4%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-3.6%), the United States (-3.7%) and the Netherlands (-7.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Romania (+2.2 p.p.) and China (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of the Netherlands (-3.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X), Austria ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 54% of global exports. The Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Italy, Poland, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Romania and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +53.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average hand stamp export price amounted to $X per unit, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 13%. The global export price peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The United States (+21 p.p.), the Netherlands (+1.9 p.p.), Poland (+1.5 p.p.) and Austria (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the UK and Japan saw its share reduced by -1.7% and -1.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported stamps for use in the hand worldwide, comprising 18% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 8.2% share of global imports. It was followed by France, with a 6.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United States was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+0.8% per year) and France (+1.9% per year).
