The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +2.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 27%. Global production peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

After five years of growth, overseas shipments of table, kitchen or household articles and parts of stainless steel decreased by -7.7% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +89.1% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, stainless steel household articles exports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.
Exports by Country
China was the largest exporting country with an export of about X units, which accounted for 69% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X units), mixing up an 11% share of total exports. The following exporters - Turkey (X units), Germany (X units), Vietnam (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) - each resulted at an 8.5% share of total exports.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+9.7%), India (+8.2%), Turkey (+6.0%) and the Netherlands (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +9.7% from 2012-2022. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. China (+16 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Germany saw its share reduced by -2.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest stainless steel household articles supplier worldwide, comprising 72% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 4.2% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 3.6% share.
In China, stainless steel household articles exports expanded at an average annual rate of +14.9% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+6.8% per year) and Germany (+0.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average stainless steel household articles export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.8% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, stainless steel household articles imports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +57.2% against 2012 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United States represented the major importer of table, kitchen or household articles and parts of stainless steel in the world, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 37% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Germany (X units), making up a 5.6% share of total imports. South Korea (X units), France (X units), the UK (X units), Russia (X units), Canada (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Japan (X units), Spain (X units), Thailand (X units), Poland (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.
Imports into the United States increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Thailand (+13.1%), South Korea (+8.1%), Poland (+6.3%), Spain (+6.3%), the United Arab Emirates (+5.7%), Canada (+4.4%), Germany (+2.7%), the Netherlands (+1.8%) and France (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +13.1% from 2012-2022. Russia and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-1.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the United States increased by +18 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported table, kitchen or household articles and parts of stainless steel worldwide, comprising 27% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with an 8.1% share of global imports. It was followed by France, with a 3.7% share.
In the United States, stainless steel household articles imports increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+5.0% per year) and France (+3.3% per year).
