Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a measured expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 117% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
In value terms, cast iron household articles exports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +60.5% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.
Exports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) was the main exporter of table, kitchen or household articles of cast iron, making up 59% of total exports. France (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 10% share, followed by the Netherlands (5.3%) and Uzbekistan (5.1%). Germany (X tons), India (X tons), Spain (X tons) and the United States (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cast iron household articles exports from China stood at +2.0%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+149.4%), the Netherlands (+28.9%), Germany (+20.6%), India (+14.1%) and France (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +149.4% from 2012-2022. The United States experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+5.1 p.p.), the Netherlands (+4.7 p.p.), Germany (+3.3 p.p.) and India (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of Spain (-4.1 p.p.) and China (-11.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest cast iron household articles supplier worldwide, comprising 47% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 16% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in China amounted to +2.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (+3.7% per year) and Germany (+24.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average cast iron household articles export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 2.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 97% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 35%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, cast iron household articles imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the United States (X tons) represented the main importer of table, kitchen or household articles of cast iron, making up 34% of total imports. Germany (X tons) held an 8.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by the Netherlands (5.8%). Canada (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Australia (X tons), the UK (X tons), France (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Spain (X tons), Russia (X tons), Japan (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cast iron household articles imports into the United States stood at +11.7%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+96.8%), the Netherlands (+22.1%), Germany (+20.0%), Malaysia (+15.3%), Spain (+10.9%), South Korea (+8.7%), Canada (+8.5%), France (+6.1%), Australia (+5.4%) and Japan (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +96.8% from 2012-2022. Russia and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the United States, Germany, the Netherlands and Kyrgyzstan increased by +12, +5.8, +4.2 and +4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported table, kitchen or household articles of cast iron worldwide, comprising 28% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 11% share of global imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 7.1% share.
In the United States, cast iron household articles imports increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+20.0% per year) and the Netherlands (+23.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
