The global bracelet market dropped to $X in 2022, waning by -8% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a noticeable expansion. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the global market remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Bracelet Production
In value terms, bracelet production declined modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, continues to indicate a slight decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the production volume increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2017 to 2022, global production growth failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, shipments abroad of watch straps, bands and bracelets increased by 30% to X units, rising for the fourth year in a row after three years of decline. In general, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +77.6% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, bracelet exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) was the largest exporter of watch straps, bands and bracelets, achieving 59% of total exports. Hong Kong SAR (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the UK (X units). All these countries together took approx. 19% share of total exports. Ireland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and France (X units) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to bracelet exports from China stood at +12.4%. At the same time, Ireland (+75.4%), the Czech Republic (+56.3%), the UK (+37.8%), the Netherlands (+15.8%) and France (+5.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ireland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +75.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Hong Kong SAR (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+18 p.p.), the UK (+6.1 p.p.), Ireland (+3.4 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Hong Kong SAR saw its share reduced by -27.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X), France ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 54% of global exports. The Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 6.7%.
The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +56.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average bracelet export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -16.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 8.4%. The global export price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Ireland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.9%), while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Bracelet Imports

Global bracelet imports expanded significantly to X units in 2022, growing by 6.8% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +73.6% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 46%. Over the period under review, global imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, bracelet imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Pakistan (X units), distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X units), the United States (X units) and Indonesia (X units) represented the main importers of watch straps, bands and bracelets, together achieving 44% of total imports. The following importers - the Czech Republic (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Singapore (X units), Switzerland (X units), Germany (X units), France (X units), South Korea (X units), Brazil (X units) and the Philippines (X units) - together made up 24% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Pakistan (with a CAGR of +41.1%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest bracelet importing markets worldwide were Switzerland ($X), the United States ($X) and France ($X), together comprising 44% of global imports. Hong Kong SAR, Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Brazil, Indonesia and Pakistan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.
The Philippines, with a CAGR of +50.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average bracelet import price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 9.2%. Global import price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per unit), while Pakistan (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+14.8%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
