In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest wind powered generator supplier worldwide, comprising 20% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with an 8.3% share of global exports. It was followed by India, with a 4.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China amounted to +13.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Spain (-7.4% per year) and India (+23.5% per year).

In 2021, the average wind powered generator export price amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -13.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. Canada (X units), France (X units), Norway (X units), Spain (X units) and Pakistan (X units) took a minor share of total imports.

Imports into Mexico increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+161.9%), Pakistan (+121.1%), Honduras (+84.3%), Indonesia (+38.3%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+35.3%), Spain (+18.7%), Canada (+18.3%), France (+16.1%), Norway (+13.3%) and Greece (+11.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +161.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Morocco (-8.3%) and Croatia (-18.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mexico (+19 p.p.), Taiwan (Chinese) (+7.8 p.p.), Honduras (+7.6 p.p.), Indonesia (+7.6 p.p.), Peru (+6.1 p.p.), Greece (+3.8 p.p.), Canada (+3.2 p.p.), France (+2.3 p.p.), Norway (+2.1 p.p.), Pakistan (+2 p.p.) and Spain (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Croatia saw its share reduced by -23.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest wind powered generator importing markets worldwide were Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), Pakistan ($X) and Mexico ($X), together accounting for 20% of global imports. These countries were followed by Norway, Canada, Morocco, Greece, France, Spain, Croatia, Honduras, Peru and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 12%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Honduras, with a CAGR of +92.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average wind powered generator import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 130% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 351%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
