The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, skimmed milk exports attained their maximum at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2018, New Zealand (X tons), distantly followed by the U.S. (X tons), Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and France (X tons) were the largest exporters of skimmed milk, together creating X% of total exports. Australia (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Poland (X tons), Ireland (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from New Zealand increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018. At the same time, Uruguay (+X%), Saudi Arabia (+X%), the U.S. (+X%), Belgium (+X%), Poland (+X%), Germany (+X%), the Netherlands (+X%), Belarus (+X%), Ireland (+X%) and France (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uruguay emerged as the fastest-growing exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. Australia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. New Zealand (+X p.p.), the U.S. (+X p.p.), Germany (+X p.p.), the Netherlands (+X p.p.), Belgium (+X p.p.), Saudi Arabia (+X p.p.) and Uruguay (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, New Zealand ($X) remains the largest skimmed milk supplier from Zimbabwe, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by the U.S., with a X% share.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, skimmed milk imports attained their peak figure at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2018, China (X tons), followed by Algeria (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) represented the largest importers of skimmed milk, together comprising X% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Russia (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), China, Macao SAR (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by China, Macao SAR, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Algeria ($X) and Mexico ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2018, together comprising X% of total imports. These countries were followed by Saudi Arabia, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Macao SAR and Zimbabwe, which together accounted for a further X, Macao SAR experienced the highest growth rate of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the last eleven years, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2018, the skimmed milk import price in Zimbabwe amounted to $X per ton, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price indicated a resilient increase from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, skimmed milk import price increased by +X% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 an increase of X% y-o-y.
